چکیده
BG Ind is a well studied, bright, nearby binary consisting of pair F stars in 1.46-day orbit. We have discovered the TESS lightcurve for TIC 229804573 (aka Ind) second eclipsing system with 0.53-day. Period and period change measurements for 143 SuperWASP eclipsing binary candidates near the short-period limit and discovery of a doubly eclipsing quadruple system
Building on previous work, a new search of the SuperWASP archive was carried out to identify eclipsing binary systems near the shortperiod limit. 143 candidate objects were detected with orbital periods between 16 000 and 20 000 s, of which 97 are new discoveries. Period changes signif cant at 1σ or more were detected in 74 of these objects, and in 38 the changes were signif cant at 3σ or more....
متن کاملAO Velorum: a young quadruple system with a ZAMS eclipsing
Using recent spectroscopic observations, we show that the triple system AOVel with an eclipsing BpSi primary is in fact a remarkable quadruple system formed by two double-lined spectroscopic binaries with components close to the ZAMS. All available data have been reanalyzed to derive proper orbital parameters for both binary systems and to calculate absolute parameters of the eclipsing system. ...
متن کاملHD 181068: a red giant in a triply eclipsing compact hierarchical triple system.
Hierarchical triple systems comprise a close binary and a more distant component. They are important for testing theories of star formation and of stellar evolution in the presence of nearby companions. We obtained 218 days of Kepler photometry of HD 181068 (magnitude of 7.1), supplemented by ground-based spectroscopy and interferometry, which show it to be a hierarchical triple with two types ...
متن کاملThe doubly eclipsing quintuple low - mass star system 1 SWASP J 093010 . 78 + 533859 . 5
Our discovery of 1SWASP J093010.78+533859.5 as a probable doubly eclipsing quadruple system, containing a contact binary with P ∼ 0.23 d and a detached binary with P ∼ 1.31 d, was announced in 2013. Subsequently, Koo and collaborators confirmed the detached binary spectroscopically, and identified a fifth set of static spectral lines at its location, corresponding to an additional noneclipsing ...
متن کاملComputing the Nearest Doubly Stochastic Matrix with A Prescribed Entry
In this paper a nearest doubly stochastic matrix problem is studied. This problem is to find the closest doubly stochastic matrix with the prescribed (1, 1) entry to a given matrix. According to the well-established dual theory in optimization, the dual of the underlying problem is an unconstrained differentiable but not twice differentiable convex optimization problem. A Newton-type method is ...
